With the help of my friend Brain, I am now able to write blogs at work and post them to my account. I’m pretty happy about that because I always seem to have an extra 5 or 10 minutes at work, but I NEVER seem to have the time when I am home. The only problem with sending the blogs from work is that the legal disclaimer that shows at the bottom of my blogs. No worries otherwise.
CrossFit was pretty tough last night. Just to look at the WOD (Workout Of the Day), one might think that it is not that bad, BUT believe me, it is! The WOD was:
3 Pull Ups
6 Dips
9 KB Swings
As Many Rounds As Possible (AMRAP) in 30 minutes
I got 19 total rounds. I really started to fade at the end! Total for the workout, I did 57 pull ups, 114 dips, and 171 kb swings. It was so humid in Coach Jason’s gym. He plays the wildest music to workout to also. I feel like I’m stuck in the video game Tetris with the Russian Ballads and Classical music.
After finishing CrossFit, I did not have anything to do so I decided to stop in at Trey’s BJJ class. Trey was not there, but Russ Helm (Brown Belt) was teaching. I got there towards the end of class and the class was already doing situational sparring. They are working on chokes from the back. It was so hot in the facility; I broke out into a sweat as soon as I walked in. I had just stopped sweating from CrossFit.
After we finished doing the situational sparring, we went into a free roll open mat situation. Russ did the time keeping and watched us roll. He gives very good feedback! The rounds were 4 minutes and he expects all out hustle the entire 4 minutes. Once the rounds are over, he made us do burpees and then switch training partners. I thought I was going to throw up! We did this for four rounds. I was really tired!
I finally broke the 220 mark on my weight! I am at 219.5 as of last night. This has been a huge hurdle for me. I am feeling very positive right now about my training and conditioning. Of course there is ALWAYS room for improvement and I being that I am not the best athlete anyway, I need to work harder than everyone else just to be half as good as the next guy. I am motivated to work even harder now though. I want to get back down to the 200 pound mark by the summer time.
